discover → diagram → automate
The ground truth of how work actually happens.
Every team runs on a process nobody wrote down correctly. processtruth traces what a workflow really does, not what the runbook claims, then turns the observed reality into a diagram you can trust and a ranked shortlist of what is worth automating.

Discover
Observe the process as it truly runs across people and systems, fusing interviews, task mining, and event logs into one reconciled source of truth.
Diagram
Turn the trace into a map that matches reality, with the drift, handoffs, and silent manual steps made visible.
Automate
Planned. Ship automation against what actually happens, not the idealized version that breaks the moment it meets the real world.
the landscape
Process mining, task mining, and what they miss.
Process-mining and task-mining platforms are strong at what they do: mine system event logs and record desktop activity, continuously, across the enterprise. Process Truth works differently. A Forward Deployment Engineer runs it as a bounded engagement that fuses those same signals with interviews into one reconciled, reproducible model of how a process actually runs. Here is how the two approaches line up.
| Capability | Process & task mining platforms | Process Truth |
|---|---|---|
| System / event-log mining | Yes | Yes |
| Task mining, desktop & screen capture | Yes | Yes |
| Interview & tacit-knowledge capture | No | Yes |

The obvious difference, and why they fit together
The difference: mining platforms run continuously and at scale, but they only see what reaches a log or a recorded desktop session. They do not interview people, and they do not reconcile conflicting signals into a single trustworthy account. Process Truth is a bounded, engineer-run engagement that adds the missing half, tacit knowledge and the manual steps no system records, and fuses everything into one reproducible model, with disagreements typed rather than averaged away.
Why they are complementary: Process Truth establishes the ground truth of how a process really runs; a mining platform is built to monitor and scale that process once it is understood. One produces the validated baseline, the other operationalizes it. Used together, the platform stops mining a partial picture and starts from reality.
This comparison refers to the general category of process-mining and task-mining software, not to any specific product or vendor, and reflects the author's good-faith understanding of how that category generally works. Process Truth is an independent, open-core project and is not affiliated with any such vendor; its Pro capabilities and pricing are in active development and subject to change, and nothing here is a contractual commitment, warranty, or guarantee of performance. free & pro
Open-core by design.
The free edition is a complete discovery tool, not a teaser. Full three-lane discovery, fusion, diagrams, the deterministic baseline, and the eval-harness engine all ship under an MIT license with no key. Pro adds curated depth on the same core: deeper and vertical dimension packs, fusion playbooks, and curated eval and tacit-rule packs.
